Located on the first floor, the Market at Bear’s Mill carries an eclectic mix of Bear’s Mill flours and meals, gourmet food items, coffee, teas, home goods, clothing, jewelry and unique gift items.

Specialty baked goods are delivered weekly to the market, including artisan breads from the Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company, as well as delicious locally made confections and sweets that utilize Bear’s Mill’s stone ground flours and meals. A long time favorite at the Market is Bear’s Mill Private labeled jams and jellies, which are locally produced to accent the baked goods featured at the Mill. If you’d like to try baking your own recipe,  Bear’s Mill sells their freshly ground yellow cornmeal, whole-wheat cake flour, whole rye flour, whole wheat bread flour and cracked wheat.  Pancake mixes made with the stone ground flours are a favorite.

Ground on the original French buhr stones powered by water from the Greenville Creek (actually a scenic river), the flours are wholesome wholegrain products. Most grains are grown by our local farmers. All of our ‘stoneground at the Mill’ products are whole grain with nothing added or removed.

    Do you have oat flour?

    • October 2, 2012 at 9:50 pm #

We do not have oat flour. We grind whole wheat bread and cake flour, rye flour and buckwheat flour. You could possibly check with The Flour Barrel in Gettysburg for Oat Flour.

Do you ship internationally? I live in Thailand and Rye Meal/Flour is almost impossible to find. Last time I picked up a 40kg bag when I was in Germany but flying there just to get some flour is a bit over the top…lol.

    • December 11, 2012 at 6:21 pm #

Yes, we can ship you rye flour! Approximate shipping charges would be:
      10 pounds $68.00
      25 pounds $120.00
      50 pounds $206.00
      The rye flour costs:
      10 pounds $16.00
      25 pounds $37.50
      50 pounds $75.00
The flour we grind here at Bear’s Mill is relatively coarse. We do however have a more finely ground organic rye flour that is ground elsewhere if you prefer it. Just let us know which you would prefer. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or would like to place an order. You can email me directly at
      Thank you for your request.

Does the Bakehouse Bread Company use your flours in their baked goods? Can I buy your flours at any retailers in the Beavercreek/Dayton area?

    • April 18, 2013 at 6:13 pm #

      Hi Becky,
Bakehouse Breads uses our spelt flour in an ‘all whole grain loaf of spelt sourdough bread’. We sell their bread in our store as well and sell our flours primarily through our own retail store and of course we could ship some flour to you. We do not have retailers in the Dayton/Beavercreek area. Just call us at 937 548 5112 and we would be happy to take an order. And, I would like to invite you to come and visit the mill sometime. We are a wonderful tourist destination with a unique Mill Store and Gallery with a program of rotating art exhibits. Hope to hear from you or see you sometime! Julie Clark

do you guys sell double zero flour or flour that has at least 13% protein

    • April 18, 2013 at 6:28 pm #

      Hi Chauncey,
We do not sell double zero flour. Our stone-ground flour is on the other spectrum….very coarse in comparison. We do however stone-grind hard red spring wheat which is high in protein. I believe the protein content to be 13% or possibly higher. If you wish to talk to me about our flours and the baking properties, feel free to contact me at or 937 548 5112. Thanks for your inquiry. So glad the mill is still around and functioning. My folks Were personal friends of Charlie and Flossie, Dad having served with Charlie in the 60th Seabees (WWll). Not a month went by that we didn’t drive up to buy products and Dad would help Charlie work on the mill or raceway. I remember the old sales count and how very snoot hits wood was to touch and run my small Hans it’s length never getting one splinter. Picnics on the grounds of the mill were special as well.
