Bear’s Mill is situated amongst a backdrop of mowed lawns and thick woodlands bordering the scenic Greenville Creek, which is the only source of power for the Mill. Walking paths have been created for visitors to explore the Mill grounds and enjoy the beauty of nature.
In a peaceful spot along the Mill’s walking paths is a very special Memorial constructed for those from Darke County who served and died in the Vietnam War. Terry Clark, Bear’s Mill’s Master Miller and a Vietnam Veteran, created the memorial using the old dome from the Darke County Courthouse.
We encourage visitors to spend time enjoying the grounds at Bear’s Mill year round. Special events are scheduled during each season to allow our visitors to experience the best nature has to offer. Watch the grounds come to life in May during our Spring Open House. See the spectacular color the first weekend in October during our legendary Fall Event, and visit us again in December for a Candlelight Walk while you sip hot chocolate by the bonfire. Check our events page often and register for our mailing list to receive Bear’s Mill Event information.
It was such a treat to visit your place when we come out to visit our daughter and her family. To see all the old implements and see just how much we have progressed in the farming industry. The old mill is such a unique place to see with its charm and quaintness. When we come out again, it will be a joy to visit you again. Thanks again for the time we spent there. We are from Utah. Love to all
